Birthed in the intense sunlight in the foothills of the Andes Mountains, Argentina, sits the Alamos vineyards of Mendoza. Cultivated by the Catena family for over 100 years and projected by Nicholas and Laura’s continued and fastidious vineyard work the past 20 years, have helped push the company into one of Argentina’s most famous estates.
Grown at an altitude between 3,000 - 5,000 feet, Mendoza's vineyards are among the highest in the world where the temperature fluctuations allow the grapes to grow slowly, helping to develop more flavour.
The continued tradition of handpicking grapes ensures the best quality grapes are used for the wine. Full of blackberries, dark cherries, currants and spices all create a fruitcake note to the wine, matching perfectly for a cool winter’s night and a classic steak or grilled sausages. Soft and harmonious
Notes of blackberries, dark cherries, blackcurrants and baking spices. Medium body with creamy tannins. Round and juicy with lots of fruit and a ripe, chocolatey finish. Drink or hold. Rating: 91 Points; James Suckling
Boccaccio Cellars offers real time shipping rates at checkout. These are heavily subsidised rates directly from Australia Post and will vary depending on your postcode.
Unfortunately, due to the ever increasing costs of postage we are unable to offer free shipping any longer. Postal increases have seen the average box of wine range from $30-$60, which can represent up to 500% of the cost of the average bottle of wine.
Your postal costs are calculated on the following factors:
- Where in Australia you are shipping to (Where rural postcodes obviously attract a higher charge)
- What in Australia you are shipping (Beer and water for example, are calculated in real time without any additional subsidy. This is because the margins for these products are minimal). Dry goods attract a discounted flat fee of $12 per carton (Calculated by gross weight).
Pickups on all items are encouraged.
