Where are the grapes grown?
This Riesling was sourced from the Barwite Vineyard located just outside of Mansfield in Victoria’s Alpine High country. This cool-climate site was planted in 1999 and produces fruit with beautiful floral and citrus notes and a balancing refreshing acidity.
What does it smell like?
Lifted and enticing with notes of citrus blossom and lemon zest.
How about the taste?
Lush and full of citrus with a minerality and refreshing finish.
What food goes with this wine?
Thai green curry.
How is the wine made?
Grapes were harvested in the cool of the dawn, crushed and pressed. The juice was cold settled for 48 hours before being racked off solids and directly inoculated with a selection of aromatic yeast strains. Cold tank fermentation was undertaken between 11-14 degrees celcius. Pressings were fermented separately and excluded from the final blend for fining and cold stabilisation.
Does this wine spend any time in oak barrels?
No it’s made in 100% stainless steel tanks.
Boccaccio Cellars offers real time shipping rates at checkout. These are heavily subsidised rates directly from Australia Post and will vary depending on your postcode.
Unfortunately, due to the ever increasing costs of postage we are unable to offer free shipping any longer. Postal increases have seen the average box of wine range from $30-$60, which can represent up to 500% of the cost of the average bottle of wine.
Your postal costs are calculated on the following factors:
- Where in Australia you are shipping to (Where rural postcodes obviously attract a higher charge)
- What in Australia you are shipping (Beer and water for example, are calculated in real time without any additional subsidy. This is because the margins for these products are minimal). Dry goods attract a discounted flat fee of $12 per carton (Calculated by gross weight).
Pickups on all items are encouraged.
